Poopy Day

Alright everyone, here is where I am going to blow this thing up with some pics. But first I better share a little bit about my day....

First off, when I woke up, I went upstairs to find that Jack had not only peed his pants, but pooped in them too - oh joy! So we got that mess cleaned up and started to get ready. We had to be ready to drive to the Brookings pool by noon, so these things need to get started early. I got the kids all set in their suits and had them playing nicely. I needed to do some emergency leg shaving so off I went. Before I know it, Jack has hopped right into the tub, t-shirt, swim trunks and all. Ok, I can handle that. Off go the shirt and trunks and I let him run around naked for a while. BAD IDEA. I should have known by how quiet it was because I came out and to my surprise, he made some nice little presents on the floor for me. UGH!!!! All I can say is thank the good lord that Emma is potty trained!

Anyway long story short, the Brookings pool was awesome and well worth the drive. The pools here in Sioux Falls get so crowded that you can hardly keep track of your kids even if they are only a few feet away. This pool had a baby pool, shallow end for kids, huge deep part with a high and low dive, two water slides and a zero depth spray pool. How awesome! I want to move to Brookings just so I can go to this place whenever I want! Emma had a blast going down the water slides and running through the spray area while Jack was more content to be by my side and beg for granola bars.

The following pics will show our day at the pool. I didn't get very many, as soon as I get the camera out and ready the kids are usually long gone, so I'm thankful for the few I can get!

**ok, well I am having issues uploading pics right now, and since this post has been sitting on my computer screen for the last two days I'm just going to post it now.

Opening Day!

Well, here goes. I am going to join the 21st century and try out this blogging stuff. I think it will be a good way to keep in better contact with family and friends if I can actually keep up with it!

So let's see...I've been playing single parent since yesterday, Charlie went to visit sister Jen in Chicago who was soooo sweet to buy him tickets to see the Reds play the Cubs this weekend. I think they will have a blast. I just wish they'd take me up on my suggestion to go see Oprah :)

Yesterday went pretty well but today began as a nightmare! Sometimes I am fairly certain my children are going to kill each other. But that doesn't keep me from thinking I want another someday!! Ok, so after numerous time-outs and time alone in their bedrooms, I was just frazzled beyond belief. Not to mention I had yet to get in the shower or even brush my teeth at this point. It was about 9:30 or so and I got a text from Ashley saying that Rachelle and Griffin were to be in town soon and they wanted me to come over for coffee (by the way the most awesome homemade coffee drinks ever, thx Ash!). In my head I thought it could end up in disaster but I hurried myself along and got ready and out the door with kids in tow by 11 (a near miraculous time).

We got there to see Ashley, Rachelle, Katie and little Griffin. I was pleasantly surprised to see my kids behaving like a couple of little angels sent from heaven! Ahh...I MUST be doing something right! Anyway, that's where the blog idea came from. Rachelle showed me hers and I thought that I should jump on that bandwagon as well. Thanks girl!

I love hanging out with my cousins, I wish we could do it more. It's so nice to get the little ones together too, and it makes for super pictures. I hope that our plans for a road trip to Fargo in late August work out, that will be a blast and we'll hopefully get to see Laura and Sarah too.

I suppose that's all for now, I am going to get this all fixed up and send the link out.

Love and hugs from the Sioux Empire!!
